Association of Pathology Chairs
The Association of Pathology Chairs (APC) serves as a voice of academic
pathology. The mission of the APC is to provide leadership and to advocate for
the dynamic discipline of pathology. The APC provides education, training,
information resources and networking opportunities for Chairs, residency program
directors, graduate student program directors and department administrators.
Program Directors (PRODS)
The Program Directors Section of APC provides a forum for the exchange of
information and ideas, make recommendations concerning rules governing content
and management of resident training to the Residency Review Committee and
American Board of Pathology, and participate in programs that would
facilitate the continued development and enhancement of training programs in
Pathology. Training programs are those approved by the Residency Review
Committee for Pathology or by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical
Education or by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and which
lead to eligibility for primary certification by the American Board of Pathology
or the Canadian Board of Pathology.
Pathology Department Administrators (PDAS)
The
Pathology Department
Administrators Section of APC provides a forum for the exchange of information
and ideas to make recommendations concerning the business and administrative
aspects of running an academic Pathology department.
Medical
School Course Directors (CDS)
The
Course Directors
Section of APC provides a forum for eligible directors of undergraduate
(medical school) education in Pathology, as defined in Article III, for the
exchange of information and ideas and for the participation in programs that
would facilitate the continued development and enhancement of education in
Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
