Committee Descriptions:
Curriculum
Committee - Goals and Objectives
The Curriculum Committee - Goals and Objectives shall be responsible for
soliciting, compiling and discussing matters related to the goals and objectives
of training program curricula. It shall monitor regulations of the American
Board of Pathology concerning certification, the Pathology Residency Review
Committee of the ACGME, and other local, state, and national bodies which
supervise or regulate accreditation of training programs or certification and
licensing of trainees. The Committee shall report a summary of its activities in
writing at regular business meetings of PRODS and PRODS Council.
Curriculum
Committee – Outcomes and Assessment
The Curriculum Committee – Outcomes and Assessment shall be responsible for
soliciting, compiling and discussing matters related to the outcomes and
assessment of training program curricula. It shall monitor regulations of the
American Board of Pathology concerning certification, the Pathology Residency
Review Committee of the ACGME, and other local, state, and national bodies which
supervise or regulate accreditation of training programs or certification and
licensing of trainees. The Committee shall report a summary of its activities
in writing at regular business meetings of PRODS and PRODS Council.
Long Range Planning
and Membership Services Committee
The Long Range Planning Committee shall project future directions and needs of
the PRODS membership and shall advise the Council regarding actions that should
be taken in these regards, including proposing amendments to these Operating
Procedures. Matters of concern to the Council may be referred to the Long Range
Planning and Membership Services Committee. The Committee shall report a summary
of its activities in writing at regular business meetings of PRODS and PRODS
Council.
Ethics and
Professionalism Committee
The Ethics and Professionalism Committee shall monitor recruitment procedures of
pathology training programs with special reference to their participation in the
National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), shall receive allegations of
inappropriate practices with regards to the NRMP, and shall make recommendations
to the Council designed to promote and maintain ethical practices for
recruitment of residents. The Committee shall also be responsible for
soliciting, compiling and discussing matters related to education of residents
in professional conduct. It shall monitor regulations of the American Board of
Pathology concerning certification, the Pathology Residency Review Committee of
the ACGME, and other local, state, and national bodies which supervise or
regulate accreditation of training programs or certification and licensing of
trainees. The Committee shall report a summary of its activities in writing at
regular business meetings of PRODS and PRODS Council.
