APC 2022 Annual Meeting Health Protocols

All in-person attendees are required to complete a brief health questionnaire and provide proof of vaccination, before proceeding to the registration desk to receive their badge and other meeting materials.  No one will be permitted in the meeting rooms without a badge, and the badge can only be obtained by having first been processed at the Health and Safety Desk. In-person registrants can preview the form and either print it ahead of time or complete it at the Health & Safety Desk at the meeting, where copies of the form will also be available. Please submit your form at the Health & Safety Desk at the meeting; APC staff will not be tracking emailed copies. No one will be permitted in the meeting rooms without a badge, and the badge can only be obtained by having first been processed at the Health and Safety Desk.  APC strongly recommends mask-wearing in sessions, when not speaking, eating, or drinking

APC made an initial determination of its health protocols for in-person events on June 13, 2022.  Protocols were based upon what APC Council deemed to be best practices in public health at that time and were largely in accordance with the then-current CDC recommendations, to include vaccine, test and mask mandates. A notification of the protocols for in-person events was emailed to all in-person registrants on June 13, 2022 and was posted below. Health protocols may be modified, after June 13, 2022, if public health circumstances change. Note: Effective April 25, 2022, APC Council determined proof of vaccination will be required to attend the 2022 APC Annual Meeting in person. For more information, contact [email protected].

The following health and safety protocols apply to all in-person registrants, speakers, exhibitors, guests, and staff:

Vaccines:
Proof of vaccination will be required.  The minimum vaccination requirement will be a completed first series of an approved vaccine and one booster of any approved vaccine, if the first series was completed before January 1, 2022.

Masks:
In anticipation of the ongoing circulation of highly transmissible COVID-19 subvariants, medical grade masks will be strongly recommended in session rooms, when not actively eating, drinking, or speaking at a microphone.  A supply of masks will be available at the health and safety desk.

Pre-Screening:
All attendees will be required to visit the health and safety desk to complete a brief health questionnaire and provide proof of vaccination, before proceeding to the registration desk to receive their badge and other meeting materials.  No one will be permitted in the meeting rooms without a badge, and the badge can only be obtained by having first been processed at the health and safety desk.

Testing:
Attendees are encouraged to test for COVID-19 infection prior to departure to avoid unnecessary travel and transmission.  Attendees experiencing mild symptoms (as indicated on their health questionnaire) will go through additional COVID-19 rapid antigen testing at the health and safety desk onsite, before proceeding to registration.  Attendees who test positive will self-isolate and may not participate further in in-person events.  Attendees who develop symptoms during the meeting must voluntarily present themselves to the health and safety desk for additional COVID-19 rapid antigen testing onsite.  Again, attendees who test positive will self-isolate and may not participate further in in-person events.

To promote a safe meeting environment, ample spacing between seats will be provided in educational session rooms.  Educational sessions will be telecast via Zoom as an alternative for in-person attendees who have tested positive onsite or are concerned with transmission onsite.

Willful failure to follow APC’s health and safety protocols may result in removal from meeting sessions, restriction from participation in future APC meetings or suspension of membership in APC. Attendees with any questions or concerns about the above policies may visit the health and safety desk or the registration desk at any time during the meeting.

By registering to attend the 2022 APC Annual Meeting events in-person, you (and your guest(s), if applicable) agree to abide by APC’s health and safety protocols for in-person events.  In-person registrants, who determine they are unable to abide by APC’s health and safety protocols for in-person events, have the option to change to remote registration and be credited the difference in pricing on or before June 17, 2022. No credit will be provided for modifying a registration from in-person to remote after June 17, 2022, because APC will have guaranteed food and beverage for in-person registrants.
