Data, Technology, and Machine-Assisted Practice: Creating a Roadmap for the Future of Pathology
Program:
The Roadmap Conference will bring together leaders from academic Pathology departments and Pathology organizations to contribute toward developing a strategic roadmap that articulates how the specialty will influence and embrace the creation and adoption of new technologies, including applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning, to advance diagnostic testing, improve patient care, and transform health. The Roadmap Conference will begin with presentations that describe the evolutionary landscape, from both a cross-disciplinary academic perspective, as well as an industry perspective, followed by examples of academic applications of advanced technologies. Professional facilitators from the University of California, San Diego’s Office of Operational Strategic Initiatives will guide practical break-out sessions in which participants will develop a framework for the roadmap.
Date & Location:
The Roadmap Conference will take place on Sunday, July 19, 2020 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., immediately preceding the 2020 APC Annual Meeting at the Hotel Del Coronado.

Roadmap Conference registrants must be Pathology Department Chairs or their designee with relevant expertise. Individuals who are not Pathology department Chairs, including faculty designated by the Chair and Pathology organization representatives, must apply to register for the Roadmap Conference.
