Submit an Abstract

Submission Deadline: 11:59 pm (Eastern), Monday, December 9, 2019

APC members, their faculty, staff, trainees, and other stakeholders are invited to submit abstracts for poster presentation. Abstracts should describe innovations (technology, programs, projects, etc.) or multi-disciplinary collaborations that advance research, education, practice, administration or diversity in an academic environment. Abstracts must clearly state the objective of the study or program, describe the methods and resources utilized, and critically analyze relevant data. Metrics for “effectiveness,” “success,” and “impact” must be explained to help serve as a model for other institutions to adopt and implement. Examples of appropriate topics include, but are not limited to:

  • novel educational curricula or techniques, on either the undergraduate or graduate levels, that transformed training time or competency;
  • approaches to attract medical or graduate students into pathology research pathways that produced more PhD or MD/PhD candidates;
  • interprofessional collaborations around new diagnostics or therapeutics that yielded multi-specialty cooperation and/or better patient outcomes and cost-effective care;
  • effective local advocacy that improved revenues for pathology departments in funds flow and other payment models;
  • coaching, mentoring or wellness programs that enhanced faculty and staff performance.

Demonstrate leadership to the Academic Pathology Community by sharing your innovative and impactful work at the 2020 APC Annual Meeting!

Discussion Groups

Proposals for organizing and moderating a 90-minute Discussion Group (DG) at the APC 2020 Annual Meeting are now open for submission by members of all Sections of the APC! DGs are conversational sessions (not didactic) intended to engage the target attendees in ways that will enable them to leave the session knowing more about the DG topic. Since the DGs are concurrent sessions, meeting room space is limited. Thus, DG proposals will be reviewed and selected by the APC Council. Priority will be given to proposals that are well-organized and feature an issue of broad concern. DGs are required to have at least two APC members planning and co-moderating the session.

Deadline: 11:59 pm (Eastern), Monday, December 9, 2019
